Note that some of the locations referenced here are not part of the HQ-Grid, and therefore you follow these links at your own risk!
NOTE: Do not send an e-mail requesting a copy of the original Wasteland disks or files. This station does not condone software piracy. The answer is "NO." Besides, in the modern era of Steam, GOG, and etc., there are pleny of places to get Wasteland legit!
That aside, if you have something else to write about, do send a note to the Desert Rangers currently stationed here at the Wasteland Ranger HQ-Grid! Of course, at this time, it's just me, Ranger Ben, and the cleaning droids.... Then again, there aren't any cleaning droids, either. At any rate, as the saying goes, comments, contributions, criticism, and complaints are all welcome. All mail should be addressed to Ranger Ben at brassaf+hqgrid at GMail.
Mail will be scanned for radioactivity and, upon decontamination and/or clearance, read and filed for timely reply.The not so new anymore site graphics were created by a fine artist, J. Tirrell, who rents a post office box at the HQ-Grid. If you want to comment on his graphics, offer him a graphic design job, or otherwise get in touch with him, send me an e-mail and I'll forward it along to him.
Wasteland Facebook Group
In 2009(ish) a Wasteland fan and friend of mine, and long time Snake Squeezins poster,
Ted Bowen, set up a Facebook Group. It's alive and kicking as of 2026. I wish I had promoted
it more sooner, before Snake Squeezins died, so folks could have crossed over. It doesn't
have much pariticpation but there are plenty of Wasteland fans there if you're looking for
a community!
Snake Squeezins
On September 15, 1998, I established a discussion group on the
Internet named Snake Squeezins. This eGroup turned Yahoo! Group had
its own private e-mailing list, private chat room, and had over 280
members as of April, 2002. In this forum,
one could read and post messages both through the web site and also through
one's e-mail account. It was the biggest gathering of Rangers this side of
the atmosphere, and when Brian Fargo was sniffing out interest in Wasteland 2,
he started posting there. Sadly in 2020, Yahoo! shut it all down. I do have
an archive of Snake Squeezins somewhere. One day I may try to host that final
backup.

Tales From the Wasteland
I established another eGroup (turned Yahoo! Group) on February 9, 1999,
to host the construction of stories set in the
Wasteland genre. Most stories here were
written by multiple people taking turns; the story segments are archived
at the HQ-Grid's Reading Room.
It never really took off but it was fun while it lasted, and it also was
shut down in 2020.

Wasteland Survival Guide
inXile estalibhsed forums in advance of and during the first few years of Wasteland 2's
release. I helped their web master set up the forum threads and was a moderator there
for a while as "Ranger Ben", which got me listed in the Wastelan 2 credits. Woo hoo!
Sadly inXile shut the forums down.
